ACAP is a
program for high school students to learn more about accounting and business
careers. The ACAP program will be held on the campus of Queens University
August 7th thru August 12th (Sunday to Friday). We are in need of
Professional and Student Members to volunteer and help with
preparing our high school students for success.
The following time
slots are available:
Sunday, August 7th 5pm–6:30pm – Check-in (0 slots available): NABA mentors
will assist students with checking into camp and finding their dorm room.
Monday, August 8th 1pm–3:30pm – Case Study: How to research for a case study (6 slots available): NABA mentors will
assist students with their case study.
They will serve as guides to help them complete their tasks for that
day and tally their day's goals.
Monday, August 8th 4pm–5:15pm – College Student Panel: (6 slots available): NABA Student Members or previous ACAP participants that are currently enrolled in college will share their experiences as college students.
Tuesday, August 9th 12pm–3pm – Case Study: Analyzing your research (8 slots available): NABA
mentors will assist students with their case study. They will serve as guides to help them
complete their tasks for that day and tally their day's goals.
Wednesday, August 10th 7pm–9pm – Case Study: Drafting Session (7 slots available): NABA mentors
will assist students with their case study.
They will serve as guides to help them complete their tasks for that
day and tally their day's goals.
Thursday, August 11th 3:30pm–5 pm – "Day in the Life of an Accountant" Panel Discussion (0 slots available): Professionals will provide exciting insight into their career path and how making certain choices provided them the opportunity they currently have. (Panelist a mix of seasoned professional(s), recently graduated professional(s), and an Intern).
Thursday, August 11th 7pm–9pm – Case Study: Presenting a Case Study (7 slots available): NABA mentors will assist students with their case study. They will serve as guides to help them complete their tasks for that day and tally their day's goals.
Friday, August 12th
9am–11:45am – Case Study:
Presentation Rehearsals (0 slots available): NABA mentors will assist students with
their presentation skills, providing helpful critiques.
Friday, August 12th
1pm-2:30pm – Case Study:
Presentation/Judging (1 slot available): NABA Mentors will judge students
presentations of the assigned case study.
Friday, August 12th 2:45pm-5:30pm – Check-out (4 slots available): NABA mentors will assist students with checking out of camp.
